Friday 22nd March, Yellow Snow Warning

According to the Beeb, Timperley is once again going to be cut off from the rest of the world by snow. Dianne said so on the box last night.

I can't see it myself, it's 2.40pm - and by this time all should be white outside. It's just cold and a bit windy. I've seen a few snowflakes this morning but that's all.

The woodburner's ticking over, warming my tootsies nicely. Perhaps it's time for a little walk.

  2. I'm willing to admit (providing Martin Rye isn;t reading this as I've been reeling him in about it all day) that the Met Office might have got it right for bits of the country today, but they've been tending towards hysteria for months now with their warnings - none of which have turned out to be much. The Beeb's not helping either. Their report from tebay accidentally showed the M6 in the background, moving at it's normal 84 mph. Dhuhh..

Now for another worm on the hook for Mr Rye....

  3. Incidentally, its not really snowed much here in Pieland either, although #1 daughter has been snowed in at Wearhead since last Monday. Off to play snowholes up ther etomorrow and deliver emergency booze supply...

  4. Well there's no snow in Timperley - and there hasn't been all day. Dianne's been on the box again this evening, there are dire prognostications. So she says.
I think Dianne's winding me up.
I understand that a certain Postcard writer changed his plans for today - I did too.
Tomorrow afternoon I shall go for a run on Kinder Scout with the chaps.

PS: Did you know that Wigan is home to the World Pie Eating Championships? I shall go there in the morning....ignoring Dianne's prognostications of doom.

  5. 8.30 Saturday - just going to dig the car out to get to Wythenshawe Parkrun (if it hasn't been cancelled due to drifting snow).
Will you be lost on the road to Wigin?
