Can't Publish Files
The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad request
I know some bloggers have had problems with posting photographs, removing the photos has resulted in the text being published - but obviously no pretty pictures.
I've tried removing photos but I still get the same error.
My last blog post was made with Blogger which I find pretty awful. Typically the text size varies and there's nothing I can do about it - I go back into Blogger, change the text size and repost, but the text size immediately returns to the uncorrected size.
Has anyone else had these problems? I've got a backlog of posts and I really don't want to be using Blogger any more than I have to.
Thanks in advance.
It's not just OLW this time. I post using Bloggeroid from my Android phone, and that has also stopped working for the posting of photos. When I looked around at alternative Apps, I found that they'd all stopped working on 18 Jan, so it is once again Blogger that has done something to break the 3rd Party App interface.
ReplyDeleteAt the moment, I'm posting by typing the text in Bloggeroid, then using the Blogger dashboard to edit the post to add in photos - a very painful process from a mobile phone.
I've also established that if I post photos by emailing to my blog (which still works), then I can load that post to Bloggeroid and edit it to add text. That's also not a particularly user-friendly workaround, although it may work better in OLW from a laptop.
One other possible workaround that I can't test (because I only have my phone to work with) would be to post with photos via email, then edit in Blogger Dashboard to drag and drop the photos to where you actually want them.
If the problem persists beyond the end of this trip, then I'm going to have to look at other blogging platforms. I can't be doing with having to battle with the Blogger user interface on a daily basis!
Thanks for your response Gayle.
DeleteI've been onto Google / Blogger, they deny the problem is theire's and lay the blame firmly at the feet of Open Live Writer.....obvs.
As you say. Blogger has altered something so that OLW & Bloggeroid don't talk to Blogger properly. Other than wanting to alienate Bloggers and the OLW & Bloggeroid teams I really don't understand why they insist on behaving so.....it's just silly.
I've today managed to post text only, it wouldn't work yesterday - so something has been tweaked again.
I'm going to try to insert an image or two to see what happens.
Ho hum.
Re your text problen in Blogger Dashboard - are you aware of the "remove formatting" button at the top? This clears any formatting of the selected text putting it back to default from where you can re-edit it as you wish (within the sparse Blogger parameters.)
ReplyDeleteThanks Conrad, I wasn't aware of the facility. I'll experiment with it later.
DeleteWell that seemed to work, but it be so much easier to post via Open Live Writer.
DeleteThanks Conrad!
Check the following link.. it is the latest version Open live writer.
