Homeward bound
My journey home: the train from Puebla de Sanabria to Zamora, bus from Zamora to Bilbao where I stopped overnight in the Albergue, a day wandering around Bilbao and then EasyJet back to Manchester.

Well done John, impressive. Brilliant photos. What stands out on your pilgrimage are the local people's responses, their genuine interest and warm heartedness toward folk doing the pilgrim trail. You will have to en roll in Spanish tutition.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dawn. I used a couple of CD language courses which were ok but the very best I found is the free online 'Duolingo' course - combined with actually being there of course. There's nowt like being immersed in the language and simply HAVING to deal with it.

A great collection of photos here, some interesting sights :) It looks like you've had a good trip! To answer the question you asked about what camera I used (sorry I didn't get around to it sooner) most of my photos are taken with a Nikon coolpix P520. I think the latest one is the P600 and they're reasonable priced and take great photos. I like them for the zoom - for when I out walking and see far away birds and such! I can't be bothered with carrying lenses and having to change them! I'd highly recommend this camera!
ReplyDeleteSome of my photos are taken on an old DSLR, a canon EOS 450D - recently, the ones of the fox dance and the fireworks have been taken with that, as it's obviously a better camera, with more control, than the Nikon.
Thanks for the camera details, it certainly takes lovely shots. I had a look at the P600 here in USA (back home next week!), there's not a huge amount of difference in price from the UK - most unusual. I treated myself to a Lumix G3 but my limited skills mean that I'm not able to realise it's full potential, consequently I've been relying on my compact Lumix DMC-SZ3 recently.
